Biometric Gun Safe

Updated on July 23, 2013

Get Yourself a Biometric Gun Safe

If you own a pistol and keep it in your home then you really need to think about getting a biometric gun safe. With a biometric gun safe you can secure and access your gun in seconds with the simple scan of a fingerprint. Biometric gun safes keep you from wasting your time trying to either remember a combination or fumble for your keys when you need access to your gun in an emergency. Having a biometric gun safe also means you can be assured that your weapon, whether loaded or not, will be kept out of the reach of your kids.

I have to tell you that this is a great purchase that I made for my home. I keep mine under my bed for easy access in case of an intruder. I can rollover in my bed, place my finger on the sensor and have access to my Colt 45.

Top Biometric Gun Safes

Are you looking for a reliable biometric gun safe for your home? If so, you have come to the right place because below are some of the top biometric gun safes on the market today.

Having a biometric safe for your weapon can give you and your family the peace and comfort you need to feel safe and secure at night.

I personally like the Mini GunVault with optional motion detector. Once the safe is open and light comes on so you can easily see inside. I thought this was a great option, especially when needing access to your gun at night.

Biometric gun safes can open only with the unique fingerprint(s) of the owner. Biometric safes work by placing your finger(s) on the scanning location on the safe. Then the safe compares the scanned fingerprint(s) with the registered fingerprint(s). If they match then you are granted access to your safe within a few seconds. In the instance that the scanned fingerprint(s) do not match the registered fingerprint(s), the door of the safe does not open. Repeated attempts of an unregistered fingerprint(s) will cause the biometric safe to go into lock-out mode for a certain short period of time. This means even a registered user will not be able to get into the safe during that period.

Most biometric safes allow for multiple users to be registered. Only the original registered user can register other users. Any registered user can me added or removed by the original user at any time. For safety and security reason, the less people that have access the better.

Biometric gun safes are typically equipped with a long life lithium-ion battery as the power source. In the event that the battery dies, the safe is equipped with a spare key. This key only allows entry to the battery compartment of the safe allowing the battery to be changed, thus continues to safeguard the contents of the safe.

Make sure you check the battery on a regular basis to ensure the safe works during the time of an emergency.

Biometric Gun Safes For Car

Car gun safes are the most important devices for gun owners who like to carry their guns around with them. Leaving a gun lying in your car or truck unconcealed and unsecured can be very dangerous because sharp movements of your car could toss the gun around and cause it to misfire. Plus if your car or truck is ever stolen, without a gun safe, someone will now have your gun and could use it in an illegal activity.

Stay safe and if you want to transport your gun get yourself a car gun safe. A car gun safe can also keep you gun from getting damaged.

The VS-52BM Biometric Wall Safe is the best hidden safe for your home or business. This safe easily fits in any standard wall. This safe can be easily concealed behind a mirror, picture or furniture. This wall safe provides total concealment with the inset door and biometric reader that allows it to sit flush against the wall. The VS-52BM safe fits easily between standard 16-Inch studs. This safe has removable and adjustable shelves.

With this biometric wall safe there is no need to fumble with your keys anymore. The Viking VS-52BM has a quick-sensing biometric reader. The Viking VS-52BM has the capacity to program up to 100 fingerprints, while other biometric safe readers have a 30 max finger print programming.

The safe is made with heavy 16-gauge steel. Viking safes are made to keep out both little prying hands and professional picking. The fingerprint programming takes only seconds to complete. The Viking VS-52BM safe is the best on the market. The safe comes with a motorized opening for fast opening once your fingerprint is recognized.

I am looking into getting one of these to install in the basement of my home.
