Nothing can be more annoying than when you are trying to listen to your favorite music, movie, or news and noise interrupts what you are trying to hear. This seems to be happening more and more in our everyday lives. Do you need to find a way to solve this problem?

One way is through noise cancelling headphones and one of the best I have found is the Audio-Techinca ATH-ANC7b Active Noise Cancelling Headphones.

You need to know that these Audio-Techinca headphones are active noise cancelling headphones and not noise reduction. There is a big difference between active noise cancelling and passive noise cancelling/reduction. Active noise cancelling will provide you with the best result so make sure no matter what headphones you go with, choose a headphone that uses active noise cancelling technology.

Noise control is an active or passive means of reducing sound emissions, often incentivised by personal comfort, environmental considerations or legal compliance. Active Noise Control specifically refers to sound reduction that utilizes a power source. Passive Noise control refers to sound reduction by noise isolating materials such as insulation, sound-absorbing tiles, or a muffler rather than a power source.

My review of the ATH-ANC7b Noise Cancelling Headphones

I was sick and tired of trying to listen to my mp3 player at the pool or on an airplane and not being able to really listen without having to turn the volume up too high. I know that I do not like it when I have to listen to other people's music through their headphones so I did not want to do the same to others.

Thus, I got a pair of noise cancelling headphones. Now the manufacturer says the Audio Techinca ATH-ANC7b headphones reduce 85-90% of noise. I do not know how true that really is but I do know that these headphones work at blocking out the noise that I need to be blocked.

I no longer have to go inside when the landscaper is working in the back yard or I can peacefully listen to my music when I am on an airplane without having to listen to the noise of the engines. Yes, I usually get stuck in the back of the plane with all the engine noise. Sometimes I even use the headphones at home when I am trying to work and the kids are running around.

These headphones are light-weight and very comfortable to wear. The audio quality is very good for me. Now these do not provide the deep bass sounds like the Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones but they are good enough for me.
